HEART DISEASE

Our heart is a muscular organ which is protected by the ribcage. The heart is divided into four chambers. The two upper chambers of the heart are called right atrium and left atrium .The two lower chambers of the heart are called right ventricle and left ventricle.

HEART DISEASE

FUNCTION OF HEART

Heart pumps blood throughout our body, controls our heart rate and maintains the blood pressure. This blood carries oxygen and nutrients to all parts of our body. Every minute healthy heart pumps about 1.5 gallon of blood. Our heart beats over 100,000 times per day. The size of our heart is about the size of our clenched fist and weighs between 300 to 450 grams.

HEART RATE

A normal resting heart rate for adult range from 60 to 100 beats per minutes. If you are a athlete then the normal resting heart rate is closer to 40 beats per minute.

HEART DISEASE

Heart disease is the leading cause of death around the globe. The term ‘’Heart Disease’’ refers to many types of heart condition. In united states the most common types of heart disease is coronary artery disease (CAD), which can lead to heart attack.

CAUSES OF HEART DISEASE

Diet high in fats, salt, sugar and cholesterol have been linked to heart disease. Stress and uncontrolled high blood pressure can cause the arteries to become hard and thick. These changes interrupt blood flow of the heart and body. If anyone is diabetic, smoking habit, alcoholic and cocaine. The most serious heart disease is coronary heart disease and congestive heart disease.

CORONARY HEART DISEASE (CAD)

Coronary heart disease occurs when the coronary arteries are blocked or reduced due to which the flow of oxygenated blood  to the heart muscles is stopped. This is the major cause of heart attack. Other types of heart problems may occur to the valve of the heart or the heart may not pump the blood well and causes heart failure.
You can help reduce the risk of heart disease by taking steps to control the factors that put you at greater risk.
1: Control your blood pressure
2: Lower your cholesterol level
3: Avoid smoking and alcohol
4: Get enough exercise daily.
5: If you are diabetic, make sure to keep it in control.
6: Take good sleep

CONGESTIVE HEART DISEASE

Congestive heart disease can be explained as a physiologic state in which the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the metabolic needs of the body at rest or during exercise even though filling pressure are adequate.
Congestive heart failure doesn’t mean that your heart has actually failed or stopped, but it means that one or more chamber of the heart has failed to keep up with the volume of the blood flowing through them.
Congestive heart failure is a serious, progressive condition that is usually chronic and can be life threatening. Failure could begin on the left or right side of your heart or both side may fail at the same time and it is called Biventricular Heart Failure.

a: SYSTOLIC HEART FAILURE

Systolic heart failure is also said as left ventricle heart failure. In this the heart muscles becomes too weak due to which the left ventricle are stretched out or get enlarged and fail to contract efficiently and the result is less blood is pumped out to the body. It is a serious condition and can cause damaged to other organ.

b: DISTOLIC HEART FAILURE:

Diastolic heart failure is also said as Right Ventricle heart failure. In this the muscles of heart becomes stiff, rigid and inelastic therefore they no longer fill the blood properly due to which you will  face difficulty in breathing while sleeping, then chronic cough, unusual weight gain and swelling in legs and ankle. This is a very problematic condition which can cause to heart failure.
It is very important to know the earlier sign and the risk factors of heart disease so that you can get treatment early and prevent most serious heart problem.
RISK FACTORS FOR DEVELOPING HEART DISEASE
1:AGE :
Growing older can increase your risk factor by narrowed arteries and weakens your heart muscles.

2: GENDER.

Men are usually at greater risk of heart disease.
Women risk increases by menu pause
3: FAMILY HISTORY.
